About Us Pages on Your Website

About Us Pages on Your Website

About Us pages are a huge opportunity to gain more trust and relevance in the eyes of Google, but only if done the right way. Franchisees will be set up with an About Us page with unique content that is optimized for SEO.

There are three goals to keep in mind when turning an About Us page into a valuable SEO tool:
  1. Unique content
  2. Establishing expertise (this is something that is becoming increasingly important to Google- not just what is written but the expertise of WHO wrote it)
  3. Giving a reader more reasons why they should choose you

Some examples of what you can provide to customize your local About Us page:

Provide a business history
  1. How long have you been in the area?
  2. How did you start the business?
  3. Why did you start the business?
  4. What changes have happened since you first opened?

Provide your bio as the business owner
  1. How many years of experience do you have?
  2. What makes you an expert in matching students with the right tutor?
  3. How many families have you helped?
  4. Are there any specific local success stories that stand out to you?
  5. Have you been involved in the local community in other ways?
  6. Provide a link to your LinkedIn profile

Discuss any accolades or recognitions the business has earned in paragraph format
  1. Are you BBB accredited?
  2. Have you received a special recommendation from another business or organization?
  3. Are you associated with any local business groups or Chamber of Commerce?
  4. You can include badges or logos as well, but writing out the achievements or associations in written format is especially beneficial for SEO.

Showcase how your business plays a role in your local community
  1. Have you sponsored any local events or teams?
  2. Have you been featured in any local newspapers or magazines?

Add high-quality photos
  1. Snap a good quality photo of the owner (bonus points if the owner is at a recognizable local landmark!)
  2. Been in the area for a long time? Showcase how long you have been a part of the local community with an older photo.
  3. Met with any local government officials or school administrators that would allow you to add a photo to the site? Add a few!
