DIY Holiday Gifts for Schools

DIY Holiday Gifts for Schools

Sending a special token during the Holidays is a great touch point with schools and teachers. This can help you build new relationships or solidify ones you currently have. As customary, there will be a variety of cards that can be purchased through our vendors on the Virtual Mall and downloaded from the Resource Library.

In addition to that you can also create 'DIY Holiday Gifts'. If you want to send something truly special and personalized, making your own holiday gift baskets can show the recipient the gift came straight from the heart. Below are some easy gift ideas you can do on your own at very low cost.

What You Will Need
  1. Container - this could be a basket, tin, jar, branded cup, or any container you prefer.
Where to find: Discount stores such as the Dollar store, Walmart, Poundland, Walmart etc.
  2. Treats - you can choose from a variety of different snacks, cookies, chocolates, candy etc.
Where to find: Bulkbarn, Walmart, Costco.
Tip: Purchase large bags of Lindt, Swiss or Hershey's chocolates and split them to make multiple baskets.
Other gift ideas: branded sock poppet, branded mask, sanitizer, lysol wipes.
  3. Clear Wrapping Paper, Ribbon and Scissors
Where to find: Discount stores such as the Dollar store, Walmart, Poundland, Walmart etc.
Tip: To save time, you can also find pre-made bows at the dollar store.
  4. Cards/Tags
Where to find: Download from the Resource Library or order from an approved supplier on the Virtual Mall.
  5. Tutor Doctor Literature - business cards, promotions, flyer, Academic Success Formula book, bookmarks etc.
Where to find: Download from the Resource Library or order from an approved supplier on the Virtual Mall.

Instructions
  1. Take the small containers and fill each of them with your choice of treats.
  2. Wrap the neck of your container with ribbon twice and then cut it (this will ensure it is the right length for your basket). Repeat as many times as you like for each basket. This will be used to tie the wrap at the end.
  3. Punch a hole through your tag and slip a ribbon through the hole.
  4. Cut the plastic wraps into squares large enough to wrap the full container from the bottom and have excess at the top. Wrap the container in the plastic square and gather the excess at the top.
  5. Take the piece of ribbon with the tag and tie the gathered plastic. After this is complete, tie the remaining pieces of ribbons to decorate.
  6. If necessary, use the scissors to curl the ribbon.
