How to Create a Pole Sign Stapler

How to Create a Pole Sign Stapler

You’ll need the following items that you can get at Lowe’s. Everything will cost aprox. $49.
  1. 1 ½” diameter PVC pipe (we got a 5’ piece)
  2. 1 hammer stapler
  3. Pack of staples (we used T50 ½” staples)
  4. 1 piece of corrugated steel that is minimum 3/4” thick (minimum 2’ long)
  5. Pack of 2 metal hose clamps for 1 ¼-2” pipe
  6. A single 1 ½” to 1 ¼” rubber coupling (should have hose clamps attached)

Instructions
  1. Attach the straight piece of metal so approximately 6-9” is sticking above the top of the PVC pipe. Attach using two metal hose clamps. One placed halfway up the piece of metal and the second near the bottom. The top half of the metal has to be detached from the pipe as that’s where the sign slides in.
  2. Place the rubber coupling on top of the PVC pipe on the same side where the metal piece is. Tighten the bottom hose clamp but leave the top for now.
  3. Put staples into your hammer stapler before placing it into the pipe.
  4. Place the stapler into the top half of the rubber coupling so that half of the handle is covered. Tighten the top metal hose clamp as hard as you can so it holds the stapler in place.
