Guidelines to Boosting Posts on Facebook

Boosting you post is an easy way to reach more people. When you boost your post it will be appear higher in your audience’s News Feed and be seen by users who haven’t yet liked your page. However, that doesn't mean you should boost every post on your Facebook Page. Below are guidelines on the types of Facebook Posts to boost.

Types of Posts to Boost

  • Emotional posts - Student of the Month, great testimonials, flu bucket or stock the fridge thank you posts from other people, success stories, etc.
  • Tutoring Specials/Offers (Summer, Back to School, Report Card, discounts, referrals etc.)
  • Contest/Prize draw contests you’re running.
  • Timely posts such as ‘Discouraging report card’ around report card time.
  • Test Prep Boot Camps – create a Facebook Event and then boost that event post.
You want your audience to see you helping the community more than selling your services. That is our reasoning for boosting our school involvement activities and thank you posts. You want them to know that you care about the schools and community. - Alison Parker

Budget

  • See how a post performs organically first – if you’re seeing some engagement then look at boosting.
  • Boost for $10 – if the post is getting traction increase the budget to $30.

  • Opt for ‘People that like your page and their friends’.
