Spot the Tutor Doctor Car Campaign Guide
The Spot the Tutor Doctor Car contest is an easy and effective campaign to implement on your Facebook Page. It’s fantastic for increasing engagement online, but also a great community marketing activity that helps build your brand. It’s a fun way to introduce the Tutor Doctor brand to people in your community who may not know about you and increases the touch points people have with your business. This can be run at any time during the year and can even be done a few times a year.
Step 1: Get Organized
- Plan where you are going to place your car each day for a week. This pre-planning means you can integrate it into your working week easily. Make sure you pick high visibility spots like outside schools, around community centres, busy shopping malls etc.
- Make sure you have an event planned for that week. Take your wrapped vehicle to the event and encourage more people to get involved in the contest.
- Create an A board / sign / poster to place with your wrapped car to encourage anyone who doesn't know about the brand or the contest to take a picture and post it to your Facebook Page. This is fantastic for branding building and introducing the brand to more people in your community.
- You want people to post their selfies with your car on your Facebook Page. Make sure your Page Settings allow this. CLICK HERE to find out how.
#TopTip: Make sure your customers, tutors, friends and family know about the contest a week before it begins. This will help get more people engaged more quickly! Some ideas on how to do this are:
- Post on your Facebook Page a week before the contest begins – include a selfie of you and your wrapped vehicle!
- Email all customers and tutors letting them know about the contest, when it will begin and how they can get involved. Make sure you use an email marketing platform such as Constant Contact or MailChimp
- Ask family and friends to get involved to help increase engagement
Step 2: Launch the Contest on Facebook
- Create your Facebook post to announce the contest. Here is an example from Tutor Doctor of the Emerald Coast:
- It’s always a good idea to include rules about the contest. Here’s an example:
- Find the car.
- Upload a picture of the car in the comments section of this post or post to our page (If you take a selfie with the car, you get two entries).
- Like and share this post.
- At the end of the week, we will draw names for a $50 gift card of your choice.
- Make sure to use a picture of your wrapped car with the post. This will make the post stand out and people will know what to be on the lookout for.
- Boost this post to reach more people and increase engagement online and offline in your community! CLICK HERE to find out how to boost a post.
#TopTip: Ask people to like your Page in order for their entry to count – this is an easy way to increase your following.
Step 3: Running the Contest
- Move your car to a different spot each day and post a little clue on your Facebook Page to help people find it!
- Encourage your friends and family to get involved to help increase engagement – you can even tell them where the car is!
- Leave an A-board / sign / poster by the car so people walking past the car know they can get involved in the contest. Make the sign short and sweet and don’t forget to include your Facebook Page name and the prize.
- Utilize any events you are doing that week by taking the car with you. You can talk to people about the contest to get them involved.
- Keep a tally of who has spotted the car and entered the contest – a spreadsheet works well for this.
Step 4: Announce the Winner
Once the contest is over, thank everyone who participated and let them know when you will be announcing the winner!
When you have chosen a winner, announce this on your Facebook Page with the picture they took with your car. Here’s an example from Tutor Doctor of Brevard:
