Step 6: Plan your Time

Step 6: Plan your Time

As this is a social platform, it is important that you are deliberate with the time you are spending on it as a marketing tool for your business. The recommended amount of time per day spent on FB to engage with your groups, respond to posts and to monitor your notifications is approximately 30 minutes a day, broken up into 15 minutes in the first half of the day and 15 minutes in the second half of the day.

You may have 1 day a week where you need to plan extra time to ensure you are posting in a larger number of groups. Schedule 1-2 hours per week on a day that works best for you to plan your content and create/share posts on a larger scale. Put it on your schedule or include this in your daily planner to set time aside specifically for engaging with your community groups.

You can utilize the tracking tools mentioned in step 7 to determine which day would be best for you to schedule this based on the number of groups you are in and when you are able to post in them.

Based on feedback from a number of franchisees, the key times to be active within groups that they have found helpful have been: Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and daily 8am, noon, 5-6pm as this is typically when people are using FB.
