Step 3: Engaging on Posts

Step 3: Engaging on Posts

When you find posts where people are in search of tutoring support and/or asking for recommendations in the group, you will need to comment on the post to engage with the prospect, being sure to tag your Facebook Business Page. You can see an example of this a little further down the article.

As you continue to implement this strategy and are sharing posts within your FB groups, engaging with clients and utilizing your connections in the community to spread the word about Tutor Doctor you will find that you are being tagged directly in these types of posts - by your direct connections as well as some indirect connections. These are people who know what Tutor Doctor is and are referring you as a result of their experience with your brand.

Response Tactic - How to Respond to Tutor Recommendation Requests

Step-By-Step

1. Tag the person who posted looking for a tutor, and comment with your high-level elevator speech, addressing their need with a comment about how you can support their need.
2. Always state you are the owner of “@TutorDoctorLocation” so that they can find your Facebook page. Be sure to tag your business page so people can quickly assess if they are looking for more information.

There are 2 different approaches you can choose from to execute on this step:

  1. Create an elevator speech type response to highlight some of your TD unique value adds, here is an example from Kim Rohr:  “@janelookingfortutoring.  Hi I am Kim Rohr the owner of @TutorDoctorGateway in East Mesa.  I provide in-home, 1-1 tutoring support, personalized specifically around our student’s needs and goals.  I have a team of over 40 tutors that I work with so I can find the right fit for your child.  I would love to speak to you further.  I have sent you a private message”.

  2. Write a quick, short message introducing yourself, tagging the business and letting them know you will be sending them an additional message directly. Here is an example shown by Kimberly Selchan:

If you can’t reply as the business owner based on group rules, ask a friend/connection to recommend you on these posts and follow up with a direct message. Review group rules to see what the restrictions are.

Response Tactic - How to respond to direct referrals on a FB post

Like the original post & the recommendation post. Respond to the person who tagged you in the post and thank them for the recommendation. Tag the original poster to ensure they receive the notification and use the same tactics as above to engage with that potential client. Here is an example shown by Kim Rohr:
