Step 4: Direct Messaging

Step 4: Direct Messaging

It is extremely important that you be proactive - don’t wait for someone to reach out to you once you’ve commented on their post. Instead send them a Direct Message (DM) to capture their contact information and set up a consultation if you can.

Here is an example provided by Kimberly Selchan:

Another really great tool that you can utilize for this contact is the voice messaging tool. This allows you to leave a personalized voice message instead of a written message for the client. You can find 2 examples provided by Kim Rohr below.

Try both ways to see what gets better traction for you!

Create some templates to utilize in these direct messages. Introduce you, your business and give them a little bit more information about why you are reaching out. Reference the post that you replied to them on and ask them about next steps. Have these saved on your computer or your phone for quick reference.
IMPORTANT: regardless of the tactic that you use, it is important that you personalize it to who you are - you need to feel comfortable in your approach to these prospects.
