Info
Did you know? Nearly 9 out of 10 consumers read online reviews to evaluate the quality of a business.
Online reviews are the modern day word of mouth. With more savvy consumers trusting online reviews over traditional advertising, as well as the effect reviews have on your local SEO, it's more important than ever to get more online reviews. A lot of people often need a nudge to post a review online, not because they are hesitant to, but because they simply forget or don't think of doing it. That's why you need to ask!

Here are some strategies to help you get more online reviews:
  • Email signature - add a line asking people to leave a review in your email signature. Just link up to your GMB or Facebook Page.
  • When a client emails you good news/great testimonial - make sure to ask them to post this as a review on Google, Facebook or Yelp.
  • Encourage your tutors to mention this to families - tutors are seeing your students/families every week, so why not ask them to remind families about leaving an online review? This is not to say tutors should be asking every session, but every once and a while when they know the family is happy with the services.
  • When a client is re-enrolling/their sessions are coming to an end - this is the most opportune time to ask for a review.
  • Make it easy for people - don’t ask them to leave a Google review if they don’t have a gmail account
  • Ask them a question - by asking someone to answer a specific question as a review may make it easier for them to write that review. Something like 'What did you like about our services?'

Hi Pippa,

I hope you are keeping well and that Betsy is coping with working at home again this term. I was wondering if I could ask you a favour? Being a small family-run business, our challenge is being found by other families like yours.

We’ve learned that the best way for others to find us is to have a good online presence and having strong reviews on our Google page helps us to get noticed.

I was wondering if you would be so kind as to write us a brief review on our Google page? It should take just a minute or two and you can get to the right place simply by clicking here.

Thank you very much in advance!

Best wishes,

Julian
